itinerary
Disembark in Cape Town, ready to get to know this beautiful and bustling city. Our guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Afterwards, you will be given an initial orientation of the city while having a drink in a modern cafeteria.
It's time to explore. Visit the boutiques on Bree Street; the art galleries in Woodstock; and the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art of Africa (MOCCA). Stroll along the beaches of Clifton or Camps Bay. Have a drink at sunset on Signal Hill, or see Cape Point on side car of a vintage motorcycle.
Today, head to Winelands and Stellenbosch. Enter the Oude Werf, a wonderful historic boutique hotel. This university town is full of elegant Cape Dutch architecture and its sharp edges.
With hundreds of wineries and vineyards to explore, spend 2 days here to make the most of South Africa's famous wineries. Hop on the wine tram as you traverse the Franschhoek Valley. Hop off at any of the eleven (or all) stops along the route to explore some of South Africa's oldest and most famous estates – and perhaps sample a vintage or two. In Stellenbosch, the food walking tour is a fun (and delicious) way to explore the city's food scene. Experience the city and enjoy lunch.
Today, cruise the Garden Route, past incredible coastal landscapes. Pass the coastal town of Hermanus – great for whale watching – on your way to the lagoon town of Knysna. The perfect antidote to today's long journey, albeit impressive, can be found in the hotel's Spa.
Take a break in Knysna to soak up the scenery. Ride across the city lagoon on a paddle board – the perfect way to see the Knysna Heads. Many hopes of ancient sailors were dashed on these cables. Opt for a full-day beer tour. The city's craft beer scene is thriving and you'll be able to meet innovative brewers and sample their high-end beers.
At the end of the trip, it's time to head to the airport to catch your international flight, via Johannesburg, back home.
