Fly to Marrakech where you will be met by a member of staff and taken to Les Jardins de la Medina, your home for the next three nights. A great place to start your Moroccan adventure.
Start by discovering the city of Rose. The Bahia Palace, built by order of the grand vizier Sidi Moussa in 1880. Afterwards, there is time to visit the Dar Si Said Museum to admire beautifully decorated weapons, clothing and jewelry. After lunch, head to the Benan Youssef Medersa Koranic School and the influential Koutoubia Mosque, with its minaret dominating the skyline.
Today you will have a free day to enjoy the hotel and enjoy the atmosphere of Marrakech. This great economic center is filled with mosques, markets and gardens. Stroll through its historic streets, soaking up the enticing sights and smells of one of Africa's great cities. Shop for handicrafts and ceramics and visit the bustling street food stalls of Djemaa El-Fna square at night.
We will take you from Marrakech to the countryside to the Atlas Mountains, the highest mountain range in North Africa, for a 2 night stay. Ancient Rocky Mountains are everywhere, holding many secrets that you will discover in the coming days.
Enjoy a day exploring the Atlas Mountains with a hike through the Ourika valley. You will walk south along the river, through the Berber villages of Timalize and Tamzendent and the salt mine and villages of Akhilij and Tagadirt. Continue through the forested valley towards Tourirt, among groves of fruit trees. You will be accompanied by an English-speaking expert mountain guide, a muleteer and a mule to carry groceries, including a picnic.
Today you will be taken to Essaouira where your hotel in the heart of the old town. Upon arrival, you will have free time to relax or stroll around this attractive coastal town. It is steeped in history, but also known as one of the surfing capitals of the world.
Enjoy a half-day walking tour of historic Essaouira. Its islands were inhabited in the 7th century BC and the pottery found here proves the presence of Carthaginians and Phoenicians. The Portuguese fortified the city in the 16th century and named it Mogador.
After a hearty breakfast, you will be taken back to Essaouira airport or Marrakech for your flight home.
